In 1925 this was Baker's, the Butcher. This picture shows Christmas preparations. After slaughter the prize cattle would have formed part of this display ready for the Christmas rush. To show poultry to good advantage, Gil Baker's son, Toby, would crawl out of the window and hook the fowls over lines with a long pole. Gil is pictured in the centre with members of his staff to the right.
